Rabi-ul-Avval crescent sighted, Milad-un-Nabi on Sept 28

Hyderabad: The Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday celebrations of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) will be held across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on September 28.

The Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee of Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Deccan announced that the holy month of Rabi-ul-Avval commenced as the crescent was sighted on Saturday evening. Therefore, the Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated across the two States on September 28 (Thursday).

Besides conducting a rally, several organisations including Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Majlis-e-Tameer Millat and others organise massive religious meetings on the occasion. However, in view of the Ganesh immersion procession on the same day, many prominent organisations have postponed the Milad Juloos and rescheduled their meetings to a later date. (INN)
