Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Wednesday directed Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) Chairman and MD Balaram Naik for the immediate filling of 317 direct recruitment posts and 168 internal recruitment posts within Singareni Collieries.

Addressing concerns regarding recruitment transparency, Deputy CM Bhatti emphasized expediting the process, aiming to provide jobs to at least a thousand individuals this year.

In a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday, discussions were held on the development and welfare programmes within Singareni Collieries. The Deputy CM stressed the importance of maintaining transparency in recruitment and ensuring fair examination procedures.

Furthermore, Bhatti Vikramarka urged swift action regarding Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s promise to raise the age limit of heirs from 35 to 40 years. He also enquired about the progress of the accident insurance MoU, which aims to provide financial security to Singareni workers and their families.

CMD Balaram assured the Deputy CM of forthcoming measures to secure accident insurance facilities through other banks, similar to those provided to 43,000 hazardous coal sector employees.

Moreover, Deputy CM Bhatti instructed officials to prepare for the inauguration of the 10.5-megawatt solar plant at Kothagudem, scheduled for the 26th of this month. Additionally, efforts to complete other solar plant projects under Singareni were emphasized.

Plans for the inauguration of a guest house in Hyderabad for Singareni employees and officials were discussed, with arrangements for the Bhumi Puja program set to commence soon.

Daily reviews of coal production and transportation have been ordered to ensure sufficient coal reserves for thermal power stations, anticipating high electricity demands during the upcoming summer months.

In compliance with the Deputy CM’s directives, notifications for the vacant posts within Singareni are set to be issued on Thursday.

Following the meeting with the Deputy CM, further discussions were held with Singareni directors at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad. Director (Personnel) NVK Srinivas was tasked with overseeing proposals to increase the age limit of heirs to 40 years and coordinating arrangements for the Kothagudem Solar Plant inauguration and Hyderabad Guest House Bhumi Puja program.

The state government remains committed to supporting the welfare initiatives of Singareni workers, ensuring their safety, and fostering sustainable development within the region. (INN)
