SCR RPF officer gets President’s Police Medal

Hyderabad: On the occasion of Independence Day, President of India Pranab Mukherjee has awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services to G. V. Sanjeeva Rayudu, Inspector, CIB, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Secunderabad, South Central Railway who is the lone recipient on Indian Railways to be awarded.

Sanjeeva Rayudu joined RPF in the capacity of Constable in the year 1983 and has risen to the rank of Inspector during his 32 years of unblemished and exemplary service, due to his hard work, sincerity and utmost devotion to duty.

During his outstanding career, he has shown grit, courage, keen investigating skills and detected many important cases of outdoor training modules like drill, weapon handling etc., which made him a trainer par excellence.

He possesses rare qualities of pre-empting problems, tackling the situations diplomatically and facing challenges with composure, especially during VVIP bandobust and important functions. His action against touts has brought laurels to the force.

He was instrumental in extending valuable assistance to travelling passengers and saving valuable Railway property from criminal interference.

He was awarded with the prestigious Indian Police Medal for meritorious services on the occasion of Republic Day-2004.

His excellent detective skills have been recognized by award of MR’s Medal for best investigation in the year 2015 with a cash reward of Rs. 1 Lakh.

He has been earlier conferred with Director General Insignia in the year 2002 and Director General level awards in 2005, General Manager’s level awards in 2001 & 2012 and also with Divisional Railway Manager’s level awards in 5 occasions i.e., 1986, 1991, 1995, 2000 & 2015 in recognition to his invaluable contribution to the organization.

His qualities are worth emulating for the younger generation of the Railway Protection Force. (INN)
