Telangana braces for heavy rain as intermittent showers continue

Hyderabad: Since Sunday evening, most districts in Telangana, including the capital Hyderabad, have experienced intermittent rain, which persisted throughout Monday. According to Meteorological Department officials, the state is expected to receive heavy rain over the next five days.

In anticipation of the forecasted heavy rainfall, district administrations in Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Rangareddy, and Vikarabad have been put on alert.

On Sunday, several districts recorded significant rainfall. Salwai village in Mancherial district received the highest rainfall at 15.83 cm, followed by Kataram in Bhupalpally district with 11.15 cm. Other notable recordings include Kancha Valley in Adilabad district with 11.08 cm, Mahadevpur in Bhupalpally with 11 cm, and Kuivar with 10.65 cm. Kota Palli in Mancherial district recorded 9.48 cm, as did Yusuf Gowda in Hyderabad.

In Vikarabad, Nawabpet received 8.48 cm of rain, while Sheikhpet in Hyderabad recorded 8.45 cm. Maridpally and Khairatabad both registered 8.4 cm, Mushirabad had 8.2 cm, and Serilingampally recorded 7.93 cm of rainfall.Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advising residents to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions. (INN)
