Telangana Legislative Assembly budget session to begin Tuesday

Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislative Assembly’s budget session will commence on Tuesday.

The state government will present the full budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 on July 25. This will be the first complete budget presented by the Congress government since it assumed power last December.

Earlier this year, in February, the government presented an interim budget of Rs 2.75 lakh crore. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will present the full budget in the Legislative Assembly.

A state cabinet meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday morning in the committee hall within the Legislative Assembly premises. The budget is expected to include significant announcements aimed at fulfilling the promises made to the public during the recent elections. The government has already allocated Rs 53,000 crore in the interim budget for the implementation of six key guarantees this year.

There are indications that there may be changes in the implementation of various welfare schemes, including farm loan waivers. As part of its commitment to unemployed youth, the government is likely to make a significant announcement regarding the job calendar. Other issues expected to be discussed include farm loan waivers, unemployment issues, and the inclusion of several opposition members into the ruling Congress party.Additionally, the government is expected to introduce nearly six important Bills during this session. (INN)
