Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislative Assembly expressed condolences on the passing of Secunderabad Cantonment BRS MLA Lasya Nandita.
When the House convened at 11 am on Tuesday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy moved a condolence motion in memory of Lasya Nandita. He recalled the services rendered by the deceased MLA and her father, Sayanna.
The Chief Minister expressed his condolences over the tragic death of Cantonment MLA Lasya Nandita, who was elected as the successor of Sayanna. “It is unfortunate that Lasya died in a road accident. Sayanna was known for his soft-spoken nature and maintained friendly relations with everyone, regardless of their political affiliation. He fought tirelessly for the merger of the Secunderabad cantonment area with GHMC. Sadly, Sayanna was not with us to witness this merger. Lasya, too, would have been pleased if she were alive. Though Sayanna and Lasya are no longer with us, they remain in our hearts forever. Our government will continue to pursue their ambitions and fulfill their aspirations,” he said.
Several ministers and MLAs including Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, BRS Working President K Tarakarama Rao, BJP Floor leader A Maheshwar Reddy, MLAs Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, Mutha Gopal, Rajasekhar Reddy, KP Vivekananda Goud, Konamneni Sambashiva Rao, Payal Shankar, Makkan Singh Raj Thakur, and Sri Ganesh also expressed their condolences and supported the condolence motion.As a mark of respect, the members observed a two-minute silence. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar then adjourned the House until 10 am on Wednesday. (INN)
