Telangana Government releases second tranche of crop loan waiver funds

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy disbursed the second tranche of funds for the crop loan waiver scheme at a programme held at the Assembly premises on Tuesday afternoon. Ministers, MLAs, and MPs attended the event.

During the program, the Chief Minister announced the waiver of loans ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh. He stated that Rs 6,190 crore had been deposited into the accounts of 6.4 lakh farmers in this second phase. In the first phase, Rs 6,035 crore was disbursed to 11.34 lakh farmers. In total, 17.75 lakh farmers have benefited from the loan waiver scheme so far. The government confirmed that a total of Rs 12,225 crore has been deposited into farmers’ accounts in the two phases.

Nalgonda district received the highest allocation in both phases, with Rs 984.34 crore disbursed to 137,430 farmers. Nagar Kurnool district ranked second, with 80,395 farmers receiving Rs 583.87 crore. Sangareddy district stood third, with Rs 563.99 crore disbursed among 77,951 beneficiaries, according to government data.

In Mulugu district, Rs 130.94 crore was allocated to 17,788 farmers. Medchal Malkajgiri district received Rs 15.56 crore, benefiting 2,799 farmers in both phases. Hyderabad district had the lowest number of beneficiaries, with only seven farmers receiving the benefit – three in the first phase and four in the second. (INN)
