Hyderabad: Jishnu Dev Varma was sworn in as the Governor of Telangana on Wednesday.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, where Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe administered the oath of office in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other dignitaries.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, ministers, government advisors, senior officials and other eminent personalities were also present. After the ceremony, Governor Varma received a guard of honour from the police.Jishnu Dev Varma served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura from 2018 to 2023. He has also held the position of President of the Badminton Association of India. A member of the Tripura royal family, Varma joined the BJP in 1990. Throughout his political career, he has held key ministerial roles in the Tripura government, including portfolios such as Power, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Finance, Planning, Science and Technology, and Environment.
