Quality is a journey, it’s not destination – Prof. V. Venkaiah

Hyderabad: “Quality is a journey, it’s not a destination. We should keep on working, must always look ahead, move forward and have vision, reposition our strategies to stand always in the priority group and the most impact educational institution in this country and beyond” said Prof. V. Venkaiah, former Vice-Chancellor, Krishna University. He was addressing as the Chief Guest during the inaugural of 3 days Institutional Development Plan (IDP) Workshop being organized by UGC-Malaviya Mission Teachers Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC) of MANUU in collaboration with IQAC, MANUU and Centre for Research in Schemes and Policies (CRISP) as part of the flagship NEP 2020 programme of Govt. of India. Prof. P.F. Rahman, Vice-Chancellor I/c, MANUU presided over the inaugural function.

Talking about NEP 2020, Prof. V. Venkaiah said section 23 of NEP emphasizes on promotion of open distance learning, enhancing technology enable learning, introducing advanced technology including AI and online education in a big way to achieve the target of GER to 50% by 2035. MANUU has been following certainly a plan and hence it stood as one of the important and high quality education provider as a Central University securing A+ grade. Development of any institution in a quarter century is not possible without plan and without sound methodology, he added.

Prof. P.F Rahman highlighting the progress of MANUU said that the university is improving consistently. It has achieved NAAC A grade in 2009 and 2016 and later got NAAC A+ grade in 2022. We have made progress in gross enrollment ratio and we have to improve more in research and publications.

Earlier, the government used to provide funds to the institutions for their performance, achievement of goals and presentation for future plan, then it was allocated on the annual report. Now IDP has been launched, by this every individual associated with the University shall work for its development by which the goals of Viksit Bharat will be achieved. The development of the country is possible through IDP, he added.

pProf. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar highlighted the importance of Institutional Development Plan (IDP) Workshop and said workshop is a significant professional development opportunity for faculty Members and Administrators.

Dr. Aloysius Sequeira, a renowned expert in Strategic Management was the resource person for this programme. 

Prof. Salma Ahmed Farooqui, Director, IQAC delivered the welcome address. Dr. Sayyad Aman Ubed, Associate Professor convened the programme and proposed vote of thanks. The workshop will conclude on August 14.
