IMD issues yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain in Telangana over next two days

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain in several districts of Telangana over the next two days, issuing a yellow alert for September 20 and 21. Due to current weather conditions, various areas in the state are expected to experience these weather patterns.

In Hyderabad, the IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies with light rain or drizzle, along with occasional thunderstorms, until Friday, September 20. The rainfall is expected to intensify, contributing to the ongoing southwest monsoon season.So far, Telangana has recorded an average rainfall of 898.1 mm during the southwest monsoon season, marking a 34% increase compared to the normal average of 668.6 mm. The IMD’s alert suggests that rainfall could further rise in the coming days. (INN)
