Grand Milad-un-Nabi procession passes off peacefully in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A grand procession was taken out in Hyderabad on Thursday to celebrate Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).

The event, which had been postponed on September 17 due to the Ganesh Visarjan procession, was conducted today with much enthusiasm. Several parts of the city were decorated with green flags and illuminated with lights, creating a festive atmosphere. Qawwali performances and recitations of Naat were organised at various locations.

Different organisations competed to adorn areas in the Old City of Hyderabad with elaborate decorations. The procession began from the Mecca Masjid, with large crowds participating, including members of various organisations and the public. Waving green flags, the participants celebrated Milad and exchanged greetings with one another. Large stages were set up along the roads to welcome the procession.

The police made adequate security arrangements to ensure a smooth event. Religious scholars and leaders highlighted the significance and benefits of celebrating Milad-un-Nabi during the event. (INN)
