CM Revanth Reddy releases DSC 2024 results for teacher recruitment

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced the DSC 2024 results, which will fill 11,062 teaching positions across Telangana.

The state government issued the notification for DSC 2024 on 29 February, and applications were accepted from 4 March to 20 June. The recruitment includes 6,508 posts for Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs), 2,629 for School Assistants, 727 for Language Pandits, 182 for Physical Education Teachers, 220 for Special Category School Assistants, and 786 for Additional SGTs.

During the announcement, the Chief Minister congratulated the officials for completing the recruitment process. He mentioned that the results have been released in a 1:3 ratio, meaning three candidates are shortlisted for every vacancy. Revanth Reddy also stated that the final appointments will be made before Dussehra, with appointment letters being handed out at LB Stadium on 9th October.

The Chief Minister criticised the previous government for neglecting the education sector, pointing out that in their ten years, only one DSC notification was issued, recruiting 7,857 teachers. In contrast, he said his government is prioritising education, having announced the results to fill 11,062 positions within 65 days of issuing the notification. Highlighting the efforts to address unemployment in the state, Revanth Reddy mentioned that around 30,000 jobs were filled within the first three months of Congress coming to power, and approximately 60,000 vacancies will be filled in the first year alone. He assured that the recruitment for government jobs will continue as per the job calendar.

The Chief Minister also unveiled a plan to improve the state’s educational infrastructure. He announced the establishment of “Young India Integrated Residential Schools” in 100 constituencies at an estimated cost of Rs 12,700 crore, with each school being constructed at an expense of Rs 100-125 crore. These schools will initially be set up in Kodangal and Madhira as part of a pilot project. He emphasised that his government views education not as an expenditure but an investment for the future. He reaffirmed the commitment to providing quality education to the underprivileged and creating more opportunities for Telangana’s youth.Revanth Reddy also announced that the results for Group I exams will soon be released and reiterated that recruitment for government jobs will continue according to the job calendar. He said that the education system, which was weakened by the previous BRS regime, would be strengthened. Furthermore, he highlighted the government’s focus on providing university-level facilities in Gurukul educational institutions. He promised to establish “Young India Integrated Residential Schools” in each of the 100 Assembly constituencies with facilities worth Rs 12,500 crore. (INN)
