Hyderabad: The South Central Railway has launched a new train to facilitate tourists frequently traveling between Hyderabad and Goa.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy flagged off the new service at Secunderabad Railway Station. The new train’s regular operations will begin from Secunderabad on October 9 and from Vasco da Gama on October 10.
The Secunderabad-Vasco da Gama train (17039) will depart every Wednesday and Friday, while the return service from Vasco da Gama to Secunderabad (17040) will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays. Currently, a regular train service (17603) already runs between Secunderabad and Vasco da Gama on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This existing service is often heavily booked due to high passenger demand. In addition, another train (17021) runs from Hyderabad to Vasco da Gama once a week. However, tickets for this train are notoriously hard to secure, making it challenging for travellers to plan their trips. The introduction of this new train aims to ease the demand and provide more travel options for tourists. With additional seats now available, it is expected that this service will greatly improve travel convenience between Hyderabad and Goa. (INN)
