Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecast rainfall across Telangana for the next five days, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected in several areas.
Officials have warned that a low-pressure system has formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to strengthen as it moves northwestward and reach the central Bay of Bengal by Tuesday morning.
In the following two days, the low-pressure area is anticipated to move further west-northwest and approach the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh.
On Monday, districts including Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal are likely to witness scattered rainfall.
The forecast for Tuesday also predicts showers in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Jangaon, Bhongir, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.In light of this, the meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for these districts, urging residents to stay cautious and prepared for potential heavy rainfall and localised disruptions.
