Azad Day Celebrations inaugurated at MANUU Model School

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today started five days long celebrations to pay tribute the prominent freedom fighter and first education Minister of Independent India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad with a colourful inaugural ceremony which was held at its Model School in Falaknuma, Hyderabad.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, presided over the inaugural. Mr. Basha Mohiudin, Founder & Chairman, Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad was the chief guest and Mr. Amjad Khan Pathan, Vice President & Centre Head, Bosch Global Software Technology, Hyderabad was the Guests of Honor.

Prof. Ainul Hasan in his presidential address specially advised students not to drop their studies in the middle. He announced that the BA Evening College, which was started last year in the School, will now be reserved only for students of MANUU Model School. The Vice-Chancellor also assured teachers & students about their genuine demands.

Mr. Basha Mohiudin advised parents to focus on good upbringing of the children and spend time with them, only then they will be able to become good citizens.

Mr. Amjad Khan Pathan of Bosch Company said that today if we are saying that India is in the map of global development, the first credit goes to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad because he was the person who started the modern day education and now we all are beneficiaries. Maulana Azad believed that for Nation building everyone deserves education. MANUU Model School is a testament for this, he added.

Earlier, the students presented a splendid cultural programme blended with social messages showcasing their talents through a diverse range of programs including speeches, songs, dance performances, Acts, Nazm, Qawwali and other activities.

Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, OSD and Prof. Alim Ashraf Jaisi, Chairperson, Azad Day Celebration Committee also spoke on the occasion.

Prizes and mementos were also distributed to students in recognition of their performance in academics and extra-curricular activities.

Dr Kafeel Ahmad, Principal I/c, Model School delivered the welcome address.  Dr. Ahmad convene the programme and Ms. Asia Anjum Ara, Head Mistress, proposed Vote of Thanks. Large number of students, parents, teachers and faculty members attended the programme.

Later, film screening, book release and storytelling programmes were also held as part of Azad Day celebrations.
