Revanth Reddy stresses priority for marginalised groups in Indiramma Housing scheme

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prioritise the most underprivileged sections of society in the allocation of Indiramma houses. He emphasised giving preference to differently abled individuals, agricultural labourers, landless families, and sanitation workers when selecting beneficiaries.

The CM reviewed the implementation of the Indiramma Housing Scheme at his residence on Friday evening. 

In the first phase, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to focus on beneficiaries who already own land and ensure proper measures to avoid delays. He emphasised accountability by involving village secretaries and Mandal-level officers and leveraging appropriate technology for efficient implementation. 

Revanth Reddy also stressed the need for a seamless experience through the Indiramma Housing mobile application, instructing officials to eliminate any glitches. He urged them to ensure beneficiaries face no difficulties during the process and to maintain error-free departmental operations. 

Special quotas for tribal areas and regions under ITDA (Integrated Tribal Development Agency) were recommended to address unique regional needs. The CM further proposed allowing beneficiaries to construct additional rooms in their homes if they wish to enhance the scheme’s flexibility. To strengthen the execution of the scheme, Revanth Reddy called for the bolstering of the Housing Department by appointing necessary staff and officials. He reiterated his commitment to making the Indiramma housing scheme an effective and impactful initiative for the people of Telangana. (INN)
