Hyderabad: The Telangana government has officially launched the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme to support unemployed youth in becoming self-reliant. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy formally inaugurated the scheme at the Assembly premises today.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling Congress’ election promises. He highlighted that several key promises had already been implemented, including caste-based census, free RTC travel for women, Rs 500 gas cylinders, Rs 2 lakh farm loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, recruitment for over 50,000 government jobs, and 200 units of free electricity. The launch of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam is the latest step towards empowering unemployed youth.
Under this scheme, unemployed SC, ST, BC, and minority youth will receive loans up to Rs 4 lakh under a self-employment initiative, with a 60-80% subsidy. The scheme will be implemented through the SC, ST, BC, and Minority Finance Corporations. The application process for the scheme begins today and will continue until 5 April 2024. Eligible youth can apply for loans by approaching their respective community finance corporations. The state government has allocated Rs 6,000 crore for the scheme, aiming to benefit 5 lakh unemployed youth across Telangana. (INN)
