Hyderabad: Revenue and Information & Public Relations Minister P. Srinivas Reddy announced that under the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme, loans will be provided to 4,000 unemployed youth in each Assembly constituency. Additionally, from Ugadi, the state government will begin distributing fine rice through ration cards.
Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony for Indiramma housing projects in Ramachandrapuram, Khammam district, Srinivas Reddy highlighted that in just 15 months, the Congress government in Telangana has fulfilled several promises.
He noted that free bus travel for women has been implemented successfully, with the government paying Rs 5,450 crore to the RTC for this initiative. For farmers, Rs 20,676 crore has been allocated to waive agricultural loans. The government has also created a national record by filling over 56,000 government jobs within a year. The minister emphasised that Telangana is the only state providing LPG cylinders at Rs 500. He also highlighted the launch of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, aimed at connecting unemployed youth with job opportunities. Under this scheme, more than 4,000 SC, ST, BC, and minority youth per constituency will receive subsidised loans to start their businesses, with subsidies ranging from 60% to 80%. The government has allocated Rs 6,000 crore for this initiative. (INN)
