Govt not acting against encroachment of govt lands: Ponguleti

Hyderabad: MLC and Congress senior leader Ponguleti Sudhakar on Monday demanded the government to protect the government lands in Khammam district.

Speaking on the issue of assigned lands in the Legislative Council, Sudhakar Reddy said that huge tracts of government lands suitable for government’s double bedroom scheme was being encroached up and alleged that the authorities were not acting to stop this.

He said that the government had allocated huge tracts of land in the heart of Khammam city to a private medical college and termed the government action illegal.

Sudhakar Reddy raised objections at the renaming of Rajiv Sagar Project. He said that he had no objection if the project was named Sitarama Project and demanded that the project be name Rajiv Sitarama Project instead.

He said that injustice was done to TS in the distribution of Krishna Godavari water and demanded the government to raise the issue with the Centre vigorously. (INN)
