Dy CM asks Centre to continue Haj subsidy

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Saturday urged the Central Government to continue the Haj subsidy.

“Pilgrims who avail this opportunity are very poor Muslim Minorities and the subsidy for this noble cause should continue so that the poor Muslims would avail this opportunity,” the Deputy CM said in his letter to Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

He also demanded that the Centre increase the subsidy amount from Rs. 690 Crores to Rs. 1,000 Crores so that, more number of pilgrims could be covered. (INN)
