TS Govt to extend ‘Amma Vodi’ schemes to entire State

Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy informed that the State Government has launched 102 Referral Transport Service (Amma Vodi) for pick up and drop of pregnant women and neo-natal children.

The scheme, which was initially launched in tribal and remote areas on December 28, 2016, would be expanded for entire Telangana State in due course. Replying to a query raised by TRS MLA Gongidi Sunitha and others during Question Hour in State Legislative Assembly,

the Minister said that the State Government was also considering payment of Rs. 12,000 for each institutional delivery on the lines of Tamil Nadu.

He said a provision would be made in the next annual budget for the same. He also clarified that the 102 services had no negative impact on 108 Emergency Services. (INN)
