TSLPRB adopted transparent measures for recruitment process: Chairman

Hyderabad: Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board Chairman Dr. J. Purnachandra Rao on Sunday said that the Board has adopted more transparent measures than before.

“We have utilized technology like 100% Biometric for 5.36 lakh candidates, given challenge option for Physical Efficiency Test and OMR marks etc. Also gave challenge selection option availed by 153 candidates. The data and certificates of candidates are being verified in all the Districts and Commissionerates.

So far, the candidature of 332 candidates who have been found medically unfit and 56 candidates who have not produced required certificates like caste certificate, Driving License etc, will be given Show Cause Notices as to why their selections cannot be cancelled,” the Board Chairman said.

On the one side 10,113 provisionally selected candidates have to be sent for training for which elaborate verification of their original certificates, physical event readings, and antecedent verification has to be done. On the other side steps are taken to redress the grievances of unselected candidates by challenge selection option.

The candidates who have been selected include 6173 BCs, 1939 SCs, 1257 STs and 744 OCs.

Large number of poor youth belonging to downtrodden and weaker sections are awaiting orders to report for training, for which all SsP and CsP of the state and the Board investing time and energy in thorough verification. Board is ready ever to redress the grievances of the unselected candidates.

Board staff will be available on working days from 3.00 PM to 4.00 PM to receive the representations based on the marks secured by them and cut off marks pertaining to the posts as well as social reservations and special reservations, the Chairman said.

He also informed that the Board has adopted various checks and counter checks in the recruitment to curb any discrepancies. A challenge option was given to the candidates in the month of December 2016 to correct/edit PET readings and other fields such as Date of Birth, Non Creamy layer, Community and special categories etc in case if candidates have found any discrepancy in the readings.

Further, in January, 2017, the data of about 10,000 candidates was verified by 13 unit officers i.e., SsP/CsP in the state. Ultimately, after declaration of provisional selection lists, a challenge option was given to the candidates who could not get selected and accordingly 153 candidates have submitted representations (one candidate submitted application twice).

The result of the challenge option cases will be placed in the website by April 22. “This recruitment challenge option was given for the first time in the country by any recruiting agency as pre-legal measure,

so that candidates may approach later for redressal of their grievances in appropriate forum,” the TSLPRB Chairman said. (INN)
