President Pranab Mukherjee to be Chief Guest at LPU’s 8th Convocation

India : LPU is all set to conduct the 8th annual convocation. Honourable President of India PadamPadma Vibhushan Shri Pranab Mukherjee will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.Governor of Punjab Shri VP Singh Badnore will preside over the convocation.

The President will award 38 gold medals to meritorious students for their outstanding performance. The Convocation will manifest the commencement of a new chapter of life for 15, 988 regular and distance education students of the year 2016 batch.

LPUhas transformed the way education in delivered with its unmatched pedagogy, state of the art infrastructure, cultural diversity and industry associations. In a short span of time, LPU has gained high level of trust and respect in the masses and intelligentsia alike.

That is why many luminaries have been a part of the convocation ceremonies at the campus. Prior to this six Presidents and Prime Ministers of different nations including Mauritius, Kingdom of Lesotho, Commonwealth of Dominica (North America), Afghanistan and Nobel Peace Prize recipient His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, have addressed the students of LPU during the convocations.

Talking about the event,Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, LPU said: “On the convocation day, a rare view of international integrity would be seen when students fromfifty plus countries will receive their degrees/certificates along with their Indian classmates from all states of India.

The preparation for the glittering ceremony is in full swing. Assessing great presence of VVIPs, the State administration is involved in security arrangements at and around the campus.

Both Punjab State and LPU administrations are working day and night to make the event a grand success. I express my gratitude to everyone involved. I express my gratitude to one and all.”

The convocation will be held on 2nd May 2017 at the University campus. The online registration for the event closes on 30th April.
