Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to hold a State level Police extended conference here on May 19.
In the conference, the Chief Minister M himself will interact with police officers from various levels. The Chief Minister wanted to know the ground level situation from the police officers, who are busy monitoring and maintaining the law and order situation in the State.
He said he wanted to discuss issues relating to strengthening the police department further and to initiate several programmes through the department for benefit of the society.
The Chief Minister is of the view that besides maintaining the law and order, how to tackle social evils, anti social activities and action to be taken against the mafia gangs and other such issues should be discussed in the proposed conference.
He has decided to have a personal interaction with the police officers working at the ground level since he felt that only with such interaction the actual problems and issues would be understood. This is the first time that the Chief Minister will be interacting with a cross section of the police officers.
KCR has instructed DGP Anurag Sharma to invite Police officers working in the Law and Order, from SI to DGP, officers from all the departments, IPS officers.
“What is the condition of the police stations? Whether they have proper furniture? What is the condition of the building? Whether anti social activities like selling of Gudumba (Illicit Liquor), Gambling, and Playing Cards are under control? How to control Drugs and Ganja? How to stop girl trafficking?
Is there any commercial sex workers trade going on? How are the police responding to the complaints from SC/STs against the atrocities? What are the measures to be taken to stop fake certificates, currency and documents? What action to be taken to prevent the supply of spurious seeds?
What are places where there are more road accidents? How to prevent them? What are the places there are more train robberies? How to stop them? How are the police acting against the chain snatchers and pickpockets? Are there any specialised crimes? How to prevent White Collar crimes? The CM wanted the ensuing conference to deliberate on these issues and take permanent measures.
The officers have been asked to attend the conference equipped with proper information and data on all these issues. The Chief Minister observed that the Telangana Police have earned a good name all over the country in maintaining the Law and Order. There is a need to discuss on taking many more measures for better service, the CM said. (INN)
