MWD to hold national seminar on Osmania University

Hyderabad: To commemorate the centenary celebrations of Osmania University, the Minorities Welfare Department and the Telangana State Urdu Academy will be jointly organising various cultural and literary programmes during current year.

To begin with, a two-day national seminar on ‘Osmania University- History, Culture and Prospects’ is being held on May 22nd and 23rd at The Plaza, Greenlands.

Addressing a press conference at Haj House here on Wednesday, Advisor to TS Government (Minorities Affairs) A.K. Khan informed that the seminar would be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and would be eminent personalities including ex-VC Prof. Sulaiman Siddiqui and Nawab Fazal Jah, son of Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur.

A grand ‘Shaam-e-Ghazal’ programme will also be organised on May 25 at Lalitha Kala Thoranam where Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas will perform.

MWD Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel and Urdu Academy Secretary Prof. S.A. Shukoor were also present in the press conference. (INN)
