Dattatreya assures help for NDSL workers

Hyderabad: Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya has directed the officials to resolve the grievances of workers of Nizam Deccan Sugars Ltd (NDSL).

A meeting consisting of Joint Commissioner of Labour (TS) Chandrashekaram, Dy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) Shyam Sunder, NDSL Chief Financial Officer V.R.Chary and workers’ representatives from NDSL Bodhan led by MLA Endala Laxminarayana was held in the presence of Bandaru Dattatraya in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The workmen representatives complained that the Govt of Telangana issued G.O. M.S. No. 28 dated 29th April, 2015 deciding to take over NDSL but not further action to take over the company was initiated by the concerned officials.

The workers reported that for the last 19 months they were not paid any wages, Lay Off compensation or their final dues were not settled till date.

The 238 workers also demanded that they should be absorbed in some other government undertaking under the State Government.

Dattatraya directed the Joint Commissioner of Labour and the Dy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) to jointly take up the matter with the State Govt and to make efforts for release of legal dues of the workers on priority basis.

They were also advised to approach the concerned Ministers in the State Govt for resolving the grievances of NDSL workers. (INN)
