Raj Bhavan begins Har Ghar Tiranga celebrations

Hyderabad: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday appealed to the people to gear up for the grand celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga.

The Governor distributed the National Flags to the Raj Bhavan sanitation staff at a special function held at the Raj Bhavan, here.

Referring to the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, she stated that it would be the right opportunity for all of our country’s people to showcase and celebrate the vibrant democracy of our nation and cherish its 75 years of independence.

On the occasion, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan also distributed clothes and other materials to the sanitation staff of the Raj Bhavan and the GHMC sanitation workers who offer their services in and around the Raj Bhavan.

The gesture was in view of the recent flood situation and the suffering caused to the sanitation staff.

The Governor also urged the people to take the precaution dose for COVID-19 as part of the free distribution of the precaution dose being given across the country.

Referring to the ongoing Breastfeeding Week campaign, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan appealed for better awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding for the healthy future of the child and the mother.Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan and other senior officials were present. (INN)

Raj Bhavan celebrates Bonalu festival

Hyderabad: Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has offered traditional Bonam and took part in the Ashadamasam Bonalu celebrations at the Raj Bhavan temple, here, on Saturday.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, carrying the traditional bonam on her head, came in a procession joined by the Raj Bhavan pariwar members from her official residence to the temple.

The Governor offered Bonam to the presiding deity Nalla Pochamma at the Raj Bhavan temple and performed puja.

The Raj Bhavan wore a festive look, while the Telangana Bonalu folk songs rented the air inside the sprawling Raj Bhavan complex.

“Due to the divine blessings of Goddess Mahankali, the Covid-19 pandemic was largely contained. All the people returned to their normal lives, and this year, people are coming to the temples fearlessly to celebrate this Bonalu festival. I prayed for the prosperity and development of our nation and Telangana and the wellbeing of all the people,” she said.

Master health checkup camp held at Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad: A special master health checkup camp was held for the benefit of the Raj Bhavan staff and their family members at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Tuesday.

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan took the initiative to organize this comprehensive health camp to conduct various diagnostic tests for the benefit of the Raj Bhavan pariwar members.

Anguished over the death of a staffer recently due to a sudden cardiac arrest, the Governor took this initiative to offer the master health checkup facility for all the pariwar members at the Raj Bhavan and extend necessary medical help to the needy.

A team of doctors, technicians, and paramedical staff from the ESIC Medical College offered the services at the mega camp.

Governor reviews the petitions received in Suggestions and Grievance Box at the Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday reviewed the Raj Bhavan staff officers on the petitions received in the Suggestions and Grievances Box at the Raj Bhavan and the follow-up action taken on the petitions.

The Governor stressed the need for an empathetical examination of each and every petition received from the public sharing their ideas, suggestions, and grievances with the Raj Bhavan. It is a wonderful opportunity for all Raj Bhavan Officers and Staff to serve the people of the State. The Raj Bhavan can act as a catalyst in getting the grievances redressed at the quickest possible time if not the prime solver of the petitions. The Raj Bhavan will then become a bridge between the government, its agencies and the people.

Till now 181 petitions have been received. Among others, most of the petitions are in the categories of land issues, service matters, job notifications and financial help.

Constitution Day celebrated in a grand manner at Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad: Constitution Day is celebrated in a grand manner at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Friday.

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, High Court Judges, Ministers and other senior officials of the government took part in the celebrations where the rich tributes were paid to the architects of the Indian Constitution.

The dignitaries also read out the Preamble of the Constitution as part of the celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that the Constitution has been proving effective in strengthening the country’s unity in diversity.

“The Constitution played a supreme role in protecting the rock-solid foundation of democracy in India,” she added.

The Governor gave a call to protect and promote the supremacy of the Constitution by promoting the ideals and values enshrined in it.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the Constitution Day celebrations since the year 2015 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on November 26th in 1949.

Remembering the services of Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar in drafting the Constitution as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee, the Governor paid glowing tributes to his contribution in preparing one of the best and the comprehensive Constitutions in the world.

“We can only pay our real tributes to the architects of our Constitution by upholding the values and ideals enshrined in it and by promoting the spirit of the Constitution at all levels,” she said.

Chief Justice, High Court of Telangana, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma exhorted all the sections of the people to resolve to rededicate to protect and promote the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law in the country.

Earlier, the Governor, the Chief Justice and the Judges of the High Court of Telangana and senior officials of the government and the judiciary offered floral tributes to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. BR Ambedkar, and the Constitution.

Telangana Legislative Council Chairman V. Bhupal Reddy, Ministers K T Rama Rao, V. Prashanth Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, V. Srinivas Goud, and Ch. Malla Reddy were among others who were present on the occasion at the Raj Bhavan. (INN)

DPS management donates 50 Tabs for under-privileged sections

Hyderabad: In response to the call given by Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Delhi Public School representatives came forward to donate a total of 50 Tablets (Tabs) for the benefit of students from the underprivileged sections.

The gesture is aimed at facilitating needy students to continue their online studies.

As a first step, the DPS Director Gorantla Ramesh, and other representatives Gorantla Sapna, Sanyu, Surya Mohan, and Sitaramaiah have handed over a couple of Tabs to Governor on Saturday at Raj Bhavan, here.

The remaining Tabs will be handed over in a phased manner.

Earlier, the Governor gave a call for the donation of laptops, tabs for the benefit of the needy students to facilitate their online education.The Governor appreciated the gesture of the DPS representatives. (INN)

‘Earth Hour India’ to be observed at Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad: Raj Bhavan will be participating in the ‘Earth Hour India’ initiative by WWF, by switching off lights and electrical appliances between 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on Saturday, March 30, by observing ‘Earth Hour India’ at Raj Bhavan premises to support the noble cause of environmental protection.

Raj Bhavan authorities have requested the TSSPDCL to shut down the transformer supplying power to staff quarters, Sudharma office building, Durbar Hall, North Block Guest House, New Guest House, Dispensary and Driver quarters for one hour from 8.30pm to 9.30 pm on Saturday, March 30, including outdoor lighting inside the Raj Bhavan premises. KCR meets Governor after TS legislature approves GST

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday called on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan. The meeting assumes significance as a special session of Telangana Legislature unanimously approved the GST Bill passed by the Parliament.

As soon as the Assembly was adjourned sine die, the chief minister drove to Raj Bhavan and informed about the approval of the GST Bill by the TS legislature.

KCR is understood to have apprised the Governor of the BAC decision to convene the Monsoon session for ten days beginning September 20. (INN)
