Hyderabad: Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao R made a surprise inspection in Jangaon town.
During the inspection, the Minister interacted with the slum dwellers and enquired about the sanitation works taken up in their communities as a part of the Pattana Pragathi program.
Later, the Minister addressed the gathering at the Pattana Pragathi program and stated that new parks should be developed and maintained in municipalities.
Minister said that 10% of the municipal funds should be allocated to the green budget in every town. He asked the officials to come up with a comprehensive action plan to increase greenery.
During the meeting, Minister said that he will visit Jangaon again after two months and inspect the progress of developmental activities taking place in the town. Minister instructed the officials to increase the number of sanitation vehicles in Jangaon town.
Minister KTR asked the officials to take up the green drive in towns/cities and ensure 85% survival rate plants. He also said, “There are no elections in the next four years. All we have to do now is work hard to find a permanent place in the hearts of the people.”
Minister stated that the government is providing sufficient drinking water supply in all the urban local bodies. He highlighted government programs such as Aasara Pension and KCR Kit. During the meeting, he mentioned that a line of Major IT companies is setting up their facilities in Warangal town which creates more employment opportunities for the local youth.
Minister appealed to the citizens not to burn solid waste which will lead to hazardous diseases.
Later, Minister KTR interacted with the councillors and ward committee members at the Pattana Pragathi program in Bhongir town. MLA Pailla Shekar Reddy, MLC’s Alimineti Krishna Reddy, Naveen Rao were present. (INN)
