125 projects presented in State level event of NCSC

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council of Science & Technology (TSCOST) commenced the State Level event of National Children’s Science Congress at Candor Shrine i School in Hayath Nagar of RR District on Sunday.

Dr. Geeta Swaminathan, Member, National Academic Committee, Govt. of India hoisted the NCSC flag on the occasion. A total of 125 projects were presented on the first day.

The projects span over a number of areas such as Environment, Natural Resources, Global Warming, Climate Change, Pollution, Agriculture, Rural Development and a host of other areas. The participation of child scientists has almost grown by 50% over the last year, with projects coming from all over the state.

The Focal Theme of 25th NCSC 2017 is “Science, Technology & Innovation for Sustainable Development: With special emphasis on Accessibility for persons with disability”.

As per the State Quota for Telangana, 13 projects will be selected for participation at the National Level Event of 25th NCSC 2017 scheduled to be held at Science City, Ahmedabad, Gujarat State during 27th – 31st December. Announcement of these 13 best projects shall be done at the Program function scheduled to be held on 30th October at 10.00 A.M.

Seshu Kumari, Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Hyderabad; Satyanarayana Reddy, District Educational Officer, Ranga Reddy; Dr. Chand Pasha, Head, Microbiology Dept., Nizam College, Hyderabad & State Academic Coordinator, NCSC, E. Malla Reddy, Chairman, Candor Shrine i School, Hayath Nagar, R R District are participating as the Guests in the programme function.

First two projects of the National Level selected projects will participate in Indian Science Congress to be held during 3rd -7th January, 2018 at Osmania University. (INN)
