Hyderabad: Workers of Aam Aadmi Party led by its south India in-charge and MLA Somnath Bharti protested demanding immediate arrest of BJP MLA Raja Singh for his comments justifying attacks on Dalits by Gau Rakshaks in Gujarat.
Large number of AAP activists gathered in front of the Police Commissioner’s office in Basheerbagh and raised anti-BJP slogans.
Speaking on the occasion, Bharti said that the BJP MLA was fanning communal passions and was inciting attacks on Dalits and Minorities in the country. He demanded the state government to immediately arrest Raja Singh and disqualify him from Telangana State Legislative Assembly.
Protesting AAP members were bundled in police vans and were shifted to Narayanguda Police Station. Among the arrested were AAP MLA Somnath Bharti, AAP TS secretary Srisailam, AAP co-convener Prof PL Vishweswar Rao and others. (INN)
