Telangana’s first international peace ambassador Mohammed Najeeb hosted grand celebration to mark United Nations World Peace Day in Hyderabad on Thursday evening.
People from various walks of life attended the event at Hotel Taj Deccan in Banjara Hills, and shared their views on peace and its need across the globe.
Speaking to Hyderabad Youth Mirror on the sidelines of the event, Amb. Najeeb expressed sorrow at the conditions of Muslims in Rakhine state of Myanmar.
“It’s painful to see suffering of people there in daily news. I have spoken to a few fellow ambassadors to push for restoration of peace in conflict areas of Myanmar,” he informed.
“Activities of peace should start from home and neighborhood. I urge everyone to do their bit in spreading peace.
“I am grateful to all guests who participated in our program,” Amb. Najeed added.
On the occasion, the organizers gave away ‘Peace Loving Citizen Award’ to some of the important personalities of Telangana State.
Among notable persons at the Peace Day celebrations were: K Swamy Goud, K Vishweshwar Reddy, Anjani Kumar, Farooq Hussain, Sarib Rasool Khan, Janaki Lagadapati, Amjed Ullah Khan, Azhar Maqsusi, Abdur Rahman, and Hasnain Saberi.
