Addressing a a press conference at BJP Headquarters here on Monday, Kishan Reddy said that the Chief Minister has already spent Rs. 35 Crore for the construction of his new camp office. Now he wants to spend Rs. 350 crore for the new Secretariat.
He feared that KCR would spend another Rs. 200 crore on new Assembly building. He alleged that KCR was thinking and behaving like a Nizam and therefore, resorting to demolition-construction spree.
Kisnan Reddy said that administration of all 23 districts of united Andhra Pradesh was run from the Secretariat without any glitches for the last seven decades.
However, it is strange that KCR was finding the same buildings insufficient to run his government for an area which is less than half of previous State.
He said that the Secretariat buildings were not in dilapidated condition to be demolished.
The BJP leader said that the economy of Telangana was in extremely bad shape and funds were not being released for almost all welfare schemes.
Therefore, he said it was not advisable on the part of government to waste public money and burden common man in the name of new construction. He said it was totally illogical to go for new construction by taking debts. (INN)
