CBI probe must to unmask real culprits of Miyapur land scam: TJR

Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party deputy leader T. Jeevan Reddy alleged that the TRS Government was trying to shield the real culprits of Miyapur land scam.

Speaking to media persons at CLP office on Tuesday, Jeevan Reddy said that the racket involved in Miyapur and other lands scams in Hyderabad was much bigger than what is being shown by the government.

He said a sub-registrar and low rank officials were being made scapegoats to protect the real mafia. Stating that Goldstone Prasad is being named as suspect in the case, he questioned the silence of authorities on other suspects.

Jeevan Reddy said that the entire scam could be exposed only through a CBI enquiry and the present CID probe would not help in any way.

He also demanded that the State Government release a White Paper on the list of people who got 690 acres of government land registered on their names. He urged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to intervene into the matter on immediate basis.

Else, he said his silence would give rise to speculations that he himself was involved in the scam.

The Congress leader announced that his party would launch a massive movement to expose these irregularities. He said that the TRS Government has hushed up issues like gangster Nayeem, Note for Vote scam and EAMCET-2 Paper leak.

He said same strategy was being adopted to hush up the Miyapur land scam. However, he said this time Congress would not allow the government to shield the guilty.

Meanwhile, addressing a separate press conference Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy also demanded CBI investigation into the land scam. (INN)
