Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy visited the Old City of Hyderabad on Wednesday to review the security arrangements for upcoming Bakrid and Ganesh festivals.
The Commissioner reviewed the arrangements for Ganesh procession to be taken out on September 5 and also visited Mecca Masjid to see arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha prayers on September 2.
Mahender Reddy first visited Balapur and afterwards seen the route of procession. He sought various details from the officials like the installation of CCTV cameras for effective monitoring of the procession.
He was accompanied with officials of various departments including GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Additional CP (Law & Order) V.V. Srinivas Rao, Jt. CP Special Branch Pramod Kumar, DCP Task Force Limba Reddy and DCP South Zone V. Satyanarayana.
Addressing a press conference later, the Commissioner said elaborate security arrangements are being made in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad for the peaceful conduct of both the festivals. (INN)
