Congress smells conspiracy behind demolition drive

Hyderabad: TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday challenged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to make public the list of builders who constructed illegal buildings.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Bhatti ridiculed the Chief Minister’s statement wherein he alleged that nearly 28,000 structures were illegally constructed during previous Congress regime.

He said that KCR held the portfolio of Municipal Administration for over two years and what prevented the government from demolishing the illegal structures during the last 27 months. He said that the Chief Minister had issue similar threats immediately after coming to power.

However, he fell silent after demolishing a few structures in Ayyappa Society. Alleging that the Chief Minister had strike a secret deal with builders, he said by threatening demolitions now, a similar conspiracy is being hatched to extort money from builders and house owners.

Bhatti also asked the Chief Minister to disclose the names of encroachers and builders who raised illegal structures. He said almost 80% of such builders are presently associated with the ruling TRS.

Meanwhile, TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress would give a detailed reply to the Chief Minister’s allegations after the end of rain crisis.

Appealing the Congress cadre to extend all possible help to the rain and flood affected people across the State, he said that the hollowness of KCR’s allegations would be exposed later. (INN)
