Hyderabad: A group of candidates chosen for the post of armed reserve and civilian constables called off their protest after being told by senior officials that their training would begin in October.
The candidates reached the office of Police Director-General M Mahendar Reddy here on Tuesday to protest against the delay in starting training for candidates who were selected after applying for recruitment notification released in 2018.
In the last seven months, as many as 300 candidates have been in a troubled state due to the delay in beginning their preparation.
Despite responding to the notices given to them in connection with any pending cases and medical tests, they said that they did not receive any calls at the beginning of the training. Agitated by the delay, they held a demonstration in front of the DGP headquarters.
Officials, however, allowed them to enter the premises and held talks with them, ensuring that the training would start in October, after which they called off the protest. (INN)
