Hyderabad: On Sunday, Covid-19 recoveries in Telangana surpassed the 2.80 lakh mark as 574 more patients recovered during the last 24 hours, even as 394 new cases were registered by the department.
While the cumulative count rose to 2,87,502, the number of active cases fell further to 5,388, including 3.210 in isolation from home or institutions.
In Telangana, which has a recovery rate of 97.58% against a national average of 96.1%, the recoveries now total 2,80,565.
Three more Covid-19 deaths brought the state’s death toll to 1,549 over the last 24 hours. The fatality rate stood at 0.53%, compared to a national average of 1.4%.
Nearly 44.96% of deaths were attributed to Covid-19 and 55.04% had comorbidities, according to the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare.
As many as 40,190 samples have been tested, 36,875 in public and 3,315 in private laboratories.
In the province, there are 18 government and 56 private laboratories and 1,076 test centers for Rapid Antigen.The population ratio per million samples tested increased further to 1,87,842.
81 new cases were identified by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, the fifth week in a week in which less than 100 new cases were registered.
With 36 new incidents, Rangareddy district was followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (29), Karimnagar (29), Warangal Urban (16), and Bhadradri Kothagudem (15).
As many as 7,779 beds are empty, out of 8,577 beds available in 61 government hospitals treating Covid-19 patients. There were 798 patients receiving care in these hospitals in total.
Similarly, only 1,380 of the 7,790 beds are filled in 219 private hospitals treating Covid-19 patients.The statistics indicate that, so far, 63.9% of positive cases were between the ages of 21 and 50, 22.91% were above 51, and 13.18% were below 20 years of age.60.44% of the total cases were males and 39.37% were females.
