Hyderabad: With the increase in Covid-19 cases across the country, including Telangana, the State Government has decided to close down all educational institutions from March 24th (Wednesday).
The announcement was made by Education Minister P. Sabitha Indira Reddy in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. She said that the decision has been taken in view of requests made by parents who expressed concern about the children’s safety in view of rising number of Coronavirus cases in the State.
She said that the closure was temporary, although she did not specify the time for re-opening of schools. She said that the educational institutions would continue the online classes.
The Education Minister said that all educational institutions, including residential schools and hostels, would be closed.
However, she said that the medical colleges would remain open. She appealed to the people to follow the guidelines to prevent further spread of Coronavirus. (INN)
