Adilabad: CPI Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy lashed out at the TRS government accusing it of ignoring the aspirations of the people.
The CPI leader who is leading the party’s bus yatra, as part of week-long celebrations to mark the Telangana Peasants’ Armed Struggle, reached Mandamarri town in Adilabad on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Reddy said that the CPI was the only party that raised a banner of revolt at every platform against the government’s anti-people policies.
Addressing party workers at a function, Venkat Reddy criticised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao accusing him of backtracking on an assurance he reportedly made while before Telangana was formed to celebrate the Telangana
Liberation Day on September 17 officially, after the formation of Telangana State. The historical Telangana Peasants Armed Struggle against the then autocratic rule had liberated Telangana from oppression, he stated.
The CPI leader said that the Nayeem case should be handed over to the CBI to bring all the guilty to book. Only a CBI inquiry will bring the truth, he said. (INN)
