Wanaparthy: CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram demanded the state government to immediately start distribution of three acres of land for landless Dalits as promised in the TRS election manifesto.
Speaking at a public meeting in Wanparthy town as part of CPM’s Mahajana Padayatra, Veerabhadram said that the TRS government’s promise of providing land to Dalits still remains unfulfilled even after being in power for over two years.
He warned the government that if it does act on fulfilling on this promise before the conclusion of the party’s padayatra in March 2017, the CPM would occupy the government lands and would distribute the same to landless Dalits across the state.
The CPM leader claimed victory for the party said that the state government took up the decision of constituting the BC Commission after CPM started the Mahajana Padayatra, which is aimed at providing social justice to the deprived sections of the society.
He demanded the government to look into the issue of recognizing about 30 castes as BCs who are economically and socially backward.
He said that the padayatra was getting good response from various sections. He warned the state government to mend its ways and start working for people’s welfare else,
the people would teach the ruling party a befitting lesson for taking people for a ride by making false promises. (INN)
