Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister (Revenue) Mohd Mahmood Ali instructed the officials concerned to make elaborate arrangements for smooth observation of ensuing Moharrum on September 21.
The Deputy Chief Minister, along with A. K. Khan, Advisor to Govt, held a review meeting with the officials of Police, Power, Transport, GHMC, HMWS&SB, Fire Services, Medical and Health, Forest and other departments.
He said that the government would make all the necessary arrangements including maintenance of law and order during the period of Moharrum. He said that the GHMC would form special teams for sanitation.
Mahmood Ali also instructed the officials to make additional lighting arrangements and mobile toilets. He also instructed the electricity department officials to take necessary steps for uninterrupted power supply.
He instructed the HMWS&SB officials for water supply and R &B officials for necessary repairs to roads and TSRTC for transport facilities. He instructed the Forest Department to provide an elephant for Bibi-Ka-Alam procession.
The Deputy CM also allotted Rs. 1 crore for making arrangements for Moharrum and repair of Ashoor Khanas.
Telangana Wakf Board Chairman Mohd Saleem, Hyderabad District Collector Raghunandan Rao, Ranga Reddy District Collector Lokesh Kumar,
Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police D.S.Chauhan, Minority Welfare Department Director Shahnawaz Qasim, MLCs, MLAs, representatives from Shia community and others were present at the meeting.
