Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha member Dharampuri Srinivas on Monday clarified that he was neither resigning from the TRS nor joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Srinivas described such reports as mere speculation and blamed a section of media for spreading baseless rumours. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao inducted him into TRS, made him Advisor to TS Govt and then got him elected as member of Rajya Sabha seat.
Therefore, he said there was no question of him leaving the party. However, he expressed regret that his performance was not up to the expectations of party leadership.
He said that he had quit Congress and joined TRS for the formation of ‘Bangaru (Golden) Telangana’ and his is only priority in politics is development of State. Reacting to the reports of his son Arvind joining BJP, he said he could only advise his son, but could not influence his decision. (INN)
