Dy CM inaugurates Agriculture College in Warangal

Warangal: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Thursday said that the state government was making efforts to make Warangal, the education hub in the state.

Speaking at a function after inaugurating the newly constructed Agriculture College here along with Ministers Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Azmeera Chandulal and ZP chief G Padma, the Deputy CM said that the state government is allocating massive funds to upgrade higher education in the state.

He said that it was a matter of pride for the state that of late, female students are outnumbering the male students in every stream in education.

He state that in the Agriculture College of the 60 students, 40 were female students. He said that the same situation prevails in medicine and other stream.

Agriculture minister Srinivas Reddy said that the KCR government was giving top priority to agriculture sector.

He said that KCR hails from a farmer’s family and is aware of all the issues farmers face and is accordingly allocating huge funds to empower farmers in the state.

He said that the government was appointing Agriculture Extension Officer for every 2,000 hectares of farm lands.

He also said that the government was giving massive subsidy as high as 60 per cent subsided to farmers in order to help them tide over farm crisis and other issues.

Earlier in the day, Agriculture minister chaired a meeting to review the working of agriculture department along with top officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Reddy directed the officials to encourage farmers to grow seeds along with crop. The minister asked officials to provide cent per cent insurance to the farmer for their crop.

He also asked officials to ensure power supply to the farmers across the district. Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, Minister Chandulal and others were present in the meeting. (INN)
