ECI, GHMC launches voters’ enrollment drive

Hyderabad: Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Rajath Kumar has appealed all the citizens who have completed their 18 years of age as on 01.01.2018 to enrol their names in the electoral rolls.

Citizens can call on 1950 for the enrolment and also to know the details of the electronic photo identity card

The CEO, along with GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, has launched voter registration campaign on Monday to create awareness about the importance of the voting and to increase for the percentage of votes in the coming elections. Interacting with the media and officials, the CEO said that every citizen must vote in order to get a good government.

Dr. Janardhan Reddy informed that the GHMC has trained booth level officers for effective role to play for the inclusion and deletion of the names in the electoral list.

He said that the GHMC has created ‘myghmc’ app in the recent past which got more than 3 lakh downloads. He said that the app was yielding very good results to solve their representations pertaining to various civic related issues.

The app will also provide the facility to register the names in the electoral rolls in the coming days. (INN)
