Eight killed in tragic road accident in Nalgonda

Hyderabad: Eight persons were killed and a few others were injured when a RTC bus had a head on collision with Tata Ace Vehicle near Devutapalli in Konda Mallepally of Nalgonda district on Wednesday.

The accident occurred when the Tata Ace vehicle going from Devarakonda to Hyderabad lost control due to a tyre burst and hit a RTC bus coming from opposite direction. All seven persons, who were on board Tata Ace vehicle, died on the spot.

A few other bus passengers who sustained injuries were immediate rushed to Devarakadra Government Hospital and later to Hyderabad for better treatment. However, one of them died on the way to hospital taking the toll to eight.

Those killed in the tragic accident include three women. The deceased have been identified as Govardhan, Akula Srinu, N. Venkateshwar and driver Mahesh. Three more bodies were yet to be identified. Further investigations are on. (INN)
