Hyderabad: Opposition members on Wednesday alleged that the TRS Government was trying to stifle the voices of opposition parties by denying them the opportunity to speak in the Assembly on issues of public importance.
Congress and TDP MLAs including Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy, TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, T. Jeevan Reddy, TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy and R. Krishnaiah and other members on Wednesday staged a sit-in in the Assembly Well after the House was adjourned for the day protesting against the alleged dictatorial attitude of the government.
The Opposition leaders alleged that they were not allowed to seek clarifications on the issue of Fee Reimbursement after Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao spoke on the issue. The government did not allow us to raise objections on the issues.
The CM spoke on the issue and Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy adjourned the House till Thursday without allowing the Opposition to express its opinion on an important issue, said Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Later, the police arrested the protesting opposition members and shifted them to their respective party offices in the city. While Congress MLAs were shifted to Gandhi Bhavan, TDP members were shifted to NTR Trust Bhavan. (INN)
