Hyderabad: A team of surgeons led by Director (Cardiac Surgery) and Chief Cardiac Surgeon, Care Hospitals, Dr. Prateek Bhatnagar, successfully performed triple bypass surgery here on a 65-year-old patient, Afsar Khan, who had recently recovered from Covid-19.
Afsar Khan, a resident of Karwan, was dealing with coronary heart disease, and a CT angiogram in November last year showed three blocks in his arteries that needed surgery.
In April, however, Covid-19 was tested positive and admitted to Gandhi Hospital, where he had been treated for 22 days and was discharged after a full recovery.
Anesthetists, Dr. Vijay Mohan and Dr. Rajesh and junior surgeons Dr. Bhadra and Dr. Snigdha were also part of the team of surgeons who conducted the operation on July 16. After rehabilitation, Khan was released on Tuesday, according to a press release. (INN)
