Hyderabad: The COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Hyderabad-Pune on the morning of 12 January. In Phase l, the vaccine will be administered to around 3 crore individuals, especially the health care staff and frontline employees.
The central government has previously declared that the center, not the state, will bear the expense of administering the vaccine.
The government of Telangana has set up 1213 centers and 866 cold chain points in the state for the rollout of Covid vaccines
“The government has already made the necessary arrangements to give the vaccine in all the PHCs in the State. Arrangements are made to administer Covid Vaccine at 1213 Centres all over the state. 866 Cold Chain points have been created to transport the vaccine.
Volunteers are ready at all the stages. A committee under the Chief Secretary will monitor the vaccination programme,” said KCR.
The Serum Institute’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin have been listed as effective vaccines by the Government of India.
Initially, the vaccine will be provided to ASHA employees, Anganwadi employees, medical and health employees, later, front warriors during the Corona pandemic, police, security forces, health staff, and other front line workers, he said.
The vaccine will then be given to those over 50 years of age and people with comorbidities. The duty should be taken by Gram Sarpanches and Panchayat Secretaries to bring people to the vaccination centers on a priority basis.
Officers and sub-inspectors of the Police Station House should take responsibility for providing the vaccine for the police and other security staff. (INN)
