Forest Minister inaugurates Snake Rescue Centre

Hyderabad: The Telangana Forest Department, in collaboration with Friends of Snakes Society, has opened a Snake Rescue Centre, in Bowrampet which was inaugurated by Forest Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy inaugurated here on Friday.

Every year Friends of Snakes Society rescues thousands of snakes from human habitation and relocates them into the forest areas, away from human settlements.

The facility will house the rescued snakes until they are fit for relocation. Additionally, the facility will act as a centre to create awareness on snakes. It is something on the lines of Guindy Snake Park in Chennai city. (INN)
