Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is ahead of other cities in the country in providing access to toilets to citizens in hotels and petrol bunks.
The GHMC has obtained consents from 390 Hotel and 285 Petrol Bunks in its limits for providing free access to citizens. Meanwhile, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has collaborated with a Toilet Service Provider Agency, for not only maintaining their toilets in 60 IOC Petrol bunks, but also providing free of cost access to the general public.
The GHMC so far has established and made functional 359 toilets, but with the Petrol bunks and Hotels consents, now additionally 675 toilets have been made accessible to citizens in general and women who are suffering with related health problems, in particular.
So far, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding, the GHMC also installed 15 She toilets and another 25 are in pipeline. (INN)
